Pieter van Niekerk

Pieter van Niekerk is a grassroots theologian. He ministered to mainly small and poor congregations for three decades and is an advocate for the dignity of the poor and marginalised. A research fellow in practical theology at Stellenbosch University, Pieter is busy with his second doctorate, focusing on the spirituality of people with disabilities. He likes writing articles on topical theological issues and regularly reviews Christian literature and films. Pieter is married to Hetta and lives in Great Brak River. He likes deep sea fishing, despite a hand tremor caused by Parkinson’s disease.
